Creating Opportunities for Our Community
At Skemxist Solutions, we believe strong communities are built by investing in people, creating opportunities, and working together with a shared vision for the future. As an Osoyoos Indian Band Limited Partnership, we are proud to support initiatives that strengthen our community while creating meaningful career pathways for Indigenous Peoples.

On June 24, we were honoured to participate in the Osoyoos Indian Band Forestry Business Partnerships Day. Hosted by Dan MacMaster and Peter Flett, the event brought together OIB Community Members, students, forestry businesses, contractors, and partner organizations to strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and explore the future of forestry within OIB traditional territory.

The day highlighted how meaningful partnerships can create lasting benefits for our community through employment opportunities, youth career pathways, skills development, and economic growth. It also reinforced the importance of ensuring OIB Members continue to have a strong voice in the stewardship and management of our traditional lands.

Forestry is about much more than harvesting timber. It is about caring for the land, respecting our traditions, building sustainable partnerships, and creating opportunities that benefit both current and future generations.

Throughout the event, our Skemxist Solutions team welcomed visitors to our booth, answered questions, and shared information about the rewarding careers and opportunities available within our organization. It was inspiring to connect with community members, students, and future leaders who are interested in building meaningful careers while contributing to the continued growth of our Nation.

We were also pleased to see so many organizations come together with a shared commitment to collaboration, including FireSmart, Interfor, Siya Forestry, The Sutherland Group, and many other forestry and industry partners. Events like these demonstrate what is possible when organizations work alongside the Osoyoos Indian Band with mutual respect and a common goal of creating opportunities for our community.

A special thank you to Dan MacMaster and Peter Flett for organizing another successful event, to the Senpaq’cin Elementary School students for opening the day in a meaningful way, and to everyone who attended, shared their knowledge, and helped strengthen the relationships that will support future generations.

At Skemxist Solutions, we believe our greatest strength is our people. We are proud to be part of a future where partnership, stewardship, and opportunity come together to build stronger communities and create meaningful careers for Osoyoos Indian Band members and Indigenous Peoples.
